Operator is responsible for set-up, selecting proper wire, dies, punches and cut-off knives for
each job. Capable to meet very close tolerances on screw and rivet blanks. Mechanical skills a
must. Ability to read prints is required. Ought to make adjustments to machine tooling as needed
and solve common forming problems.
After first piece inspection by the Quality Control Inspector, the operator is responsible for quality control during the rest of the run. Must be very familiar with measuring instruments,
micrometers, calibers, depth gages, etc. Conveyors are used to move part into bins.
Head diameter, shank diameter and length must be held along with the concentricity of the
head. Standard dimensions from the fastener standard book (I.F.I.) or the print.
